Day 18 – Wednesday July 3 - Ferry trip across Puget Sound

Took one more hike in the woods before leaving this morning.  Drove south to Kingston to catch the ferry.  This was a huge ferry that carries several hundred cars.

Once we were on the ferry, I got out and went upstairs.  I know it was morning but I decided to get a bowl of Iver’s Chowder, highly recommended by my friend Ernie.  I was delicious.

The ferry crossing is only 30 minutes so quickly we were being told to get back to our cars so that we could depart the ferry.

I continued driving north on I-5. This was just north of Seattle and the traffic was pretty bad but the farther we went it thinned out.  Finally reached Blaine, Washington to stay with my friends Ernie and Lisa.
